Marble is a metamorphic rock formed by calcium carbonate crystals of almost microscopic dimensions. It originated from pre-existing rocks which, after strong variations in pressure and temperature, underwent a complete reorganization of the crystalline structure in such a way that transformed them into completely different types of rocks.
